Green by name.

Green Civil Works (T) is a Tanzanian engineering company specialising in sports pitches. We design and build football, rugby, and cricket fields, artificial turf, athletics tracks, and courts for schools, clubs, councils, and stadiums.

01

Built for the climate

Surfaces, grasses, and drainage chosen for Tanzania's heat and heavy rains.

02

Player safety

Level, consistent surfaces with the right cushioning to reduce injuries.

03

On time, on budget

Clear schedules so your pitch is ready for the season you planned.

04

Specialist expertise

Sports pitch engineering is all we do, from survey to the first match.

Origins & history

Green Civil Works (T) grew from its sister company, Ekika Building & Civil Contractor. In 2007, when Greenfields B.V., CondorGrass and FIFA officials came to transform Karume Technical, the National Stadium, Gombani and Amani from natural to artificial turf, our team was selected — after thorough assessment — as main subcontractor for the critical base works on all four fields.

Working hands-on with international turf systems, we became the local specialists in a field where no other Tanzanian firm had comparable knowledge. As advised by FIFA officials, Green Civil Works (T) was formally established in 2012 to focus exclusively on sports pitches and landscaping.

Engineering, Procurement & Construction — design to commissioning.

Vision

To be the leading specialist in sports infrastructure development in Tanzania and the wider East African region — recognised for transforming natural grass and artificial playing surfaces into world-class, safe and durable facilities that inspire sporting excellence.

Mission

To provide expert civil works, sodding of Tahoma 31, artificial turf installation, running track construction and MUGAs using proven international techniques and materials — upholding the highest standards of quality, player safety and technical excellence.

What we build

01

Artificial Turf Systems

3G & 4G synthetic turf, shock pads and UV-stable surfaces from 20mm to 60mm pile.

02

Natural Grass Pitches

Base preparation, Bermuda, Pemba & Tahoma 31 sodding, irrigation, mowing and grow-in care.

03

Engineered Base Works

Soil analysis, grading, drainage design and FIFA-grade sub-base construction.

04

Running Tracks

Athletics track construction to international performance and safety standards.

05

Multi-Use Games Areas

MUGA courts for football, basketball, netball and tennis — fenced, lit and line-marked.

06

Landscaping

Lawns and grounds for schools, nurseries, clubs, hotels and leisure facilities.

Why a specialist?

A general civil contractor handles earthworks, compaction and basic drainage. A FIFA-compliant turf system needs more: an engineered base and sub-base that delivers precise biomechanical and ball-interaction performance — something a standard civil package doesn't address.
